Structural Engineers Design

The architects design and specification will give the details on layout and appearance while a structural engineer will usually be required to assess this design for specific structural requirements. This will involve detailed drawings of the layout while trying to keep with the architect’s original design. This will ensure that the material used in the fabric of the building are of adequate type and strength. The structural engineer will take in to consideration any building work that may affect surrounding structures, this will encompass specification of everything from foundations, timber sizing for roof structures and steel frames to support load-bearing walls above. The structural engineer will usually produce a set of drawings backed up by detailed technical calculations that justify their choices of material type and size. These will be cross checked as part of the building certification process.

Cost for these services range between 700-2500
